The Herbal Cleanse is a fundamental of the Advocare Program that you can use every 90 days.  It is considered an oil change for your body, and is the first 10 days of the 24 Day Challenge.

If you are looking for a review on the Herbal Cleanse, here is my analysis.  By eliminating dairy, alcohol, wheat and coffee, you will feel lighter.  With Spark for energy, and lots of fruit, and other good nutrition, I felt great.  Since my first cleanse, I have had no desire for coffee.  Love Spark and the great consistent energy and concentration.

    I just started today and was not able to drink the fiber drink this morning. It was too thick and I couldn’t get it down…. how can I keep it from getting thick?

    HI. I work 3 night shifts and then I am off for 2-3 days. I try to transition back to a normal life for my off days. When I go on to night shift, I get a normal night’s sleep the night before and then take a nap from 2pm-5pm the afternoon of work. Should I skip that day and start my “morning” at 5pm?

      The MNS strip packs all have appetite suppressant. You take during Phase II and beyond. LeptiLean can be taken during any Phase.

    i have been on the cleanse for 4 days so far and feel great, but on the 4th day i cheated and ate mashed potatoes and meatballs with one slice of bread. will this effect the cleasne at all. and also wanted to know why i havent been goin #2 as often after 4 days. and once the cleanse is over how many days do you recommend before you go back to drinking beer, it want make you sick if you drink alot would it

    Are you allowed to have oatmeal during the cleanse? I just bought cinnamon flavored oatmeal packages. Also, are you allowed to have meal replacement protein bars from Special K?

      No bars during the cleanse. Limited Advocare only bars during 2nd phase if you are losing well. For best results, wait until after the 24 Days to use. Oatmeal – limited. Use plain only. The other may have sugar or other ingredients.

    Okay thanks and I have one more question I ate a ceaser salad today from McDonald’s and it was a grilled chicken salad was that a good choice? Because that’s the main problem when I’m doing the 10 day herbal cleanse, I don’t know what to eat and I don’t really have time to cook with my work schedule.

      Caesar salad is okay with no croutons, no cheese and no dressing. No crispy chicken – only grilled chicken.
      Best to stay away from fast food for best results.

    Hi, I started the cleanse a few days ago, and so far it’s going pretty good. I work 3 graveyard shifts a week and then try to adjust to a normal schedule the rest of the week. How do I adjust my meals to this schedule? So far I’ve been eating all my meals at night during work, but today is my first day off so I only plan on sleeping about 4 hours after work. Is it ok to begin my new day so soon?

      You should be okay as long as you have 6 hours or more since last meal.

    The fiber drink is extremely hard for me to get down. Can I mix it into a fat free smoothie made with fruit and skip the 30 minute later fruit/meal replacement?

    I’m on day 3 of the 10 day cleanse. Is it ok to have wheat bread for breakfast? I’m a diabetic & its part of my meal plan. Also is it normal to have a BM 3+ times a day on this cleanse? Thanx

      All wheat products are avoided during the cleanse. Feel free to email us on the Contact Page and tell us what you are eating, taking and drinking. Include quantities and time of day.

    I am on Day 3 of the 10-Day cleanse. So far so good. Lots of fresh veggies, no bread, no sugar. I HAVE been eating oatmeal every day. Why is this not a good breakfast?

    Also, I forgot to take my evening Herbal Cleanse packet. I’m assuming I should just save it for another time, after the cleanse?

      That is correct to save. Oatmeal is okay for some, but stalls others.

    I am on day 5 of the detox and have a birthday party tonight. Would it be better to drink Miller 64 (beer), vodka and cranberry juice, or Capitan Morgan and Diet dr. Pepper?

    If I do drink, should I skip my Herbal Cleanse packets
    before bed and just continue tomorrow or just take them tonight?

      Sorry, on the cleanse we wouldn’t suggest any of those. We strongly suggest you try to give your cleanse a chance to work well and sip club soda. :-)

        My distibutor said to avod carbonated beverages. Is Club Soda still ok?

        And, (sorry to ask again), if I do have a drink tonight, should I skip my Herbal Cleanse tonight and take it tomorrow night, or just take it tonight.

          Club soda is fine – diet soda is not!
          Take the cleanse.
          If you really have to – just go with club soda, lime, and clear liquor like vodka. No more than 1! Just being Mom here. You just spent $$ on your Challenge and want to get good results!

    I am on Day 3 of my cleanse, and I feel really bloated. I have only gone number 2 once on my first day. My advisor told me to stop taking the herbal cleanse for now because I may have IBS and my system may get clogged up with all the toxins. Was that the right thing to do? How do I subside the bloating?

    I will be starting the 10 day cleanse but don’t won’t to lose weight can i eat what i wont and still clean out my body? are will the foods make me sick….

      Just be sure to eat enough of the recommended foods. If you are losing too much, add a 2nd complex carb each day.

    I tried to drink the fiber drink this morning- even tried to drink it immediately after mixing and chug it, but I couldn’t keep it down. Do you have any advice for this? I really want to do this cleanse- I’m getting married in 18 days!!!

      Heather, I mix it with orange juice and stir as little as possible, if you stir too much it starts getting thick, OJ really maskes the flavor, just dilute the juice so that you’re not consuming too much juice.

    Do you have to take the omega plex and spark w/the cleanse? I was given the packets but don’t hve anything else. I want to do this cleanse just in itme to leave on vacation in 12 days. should I get everything else?

    So I’m starting the cleanse, and the Fiber drink is gelatinous… Is it supposed to be that way?

    Because its hard to swallow that kind of texture :(

      Mix with cold water and drink immediately. If you let it sit, it will thicken.

    i just started my 10 day cleanse today and noticed I missed taking the omegplex at dinner will this mess up my cleanse?? and also saurday I will be on day number 6 of my cleanse and I have a wedding that night and would like to drink will this make me sick??

      Just take the omegas in the future with a meal. It you do have a drink, try 1 glass wine. No sugary mixers.

    Hi- I’m only on day 2 of the cleanse. I have experience 1 bowel movement, and I have frequent urination. But, I am experiencing stomach cramps. Not completely unbearable, but definitely painful. Why could this be?

    I have started the 24 day challenge only to fall off the wagon, May I restart the cleanse all over? I only made it half way through. Will it harm my body If I restart?

      THe cleanse can be done once every 90 days, but you can continue with the 14 Day portion (I do this permanently).

    I am having an issue with the Omega #’s- they are making me very sick to my stomach. If I stop them will they effect the cleanse. I have IBS by the way and am allergic to some fish.

    I hate soda, juice and all fruit flavored drinks, plus they give me acid reflux-I drink just water-unflavored. (Tastes like water!! Not mango!!-if I want mango flavor, I will eat a mango) Can I do the Challenge without Spark? Because it won’t work if I have to drink Spark.

    Hey I just started the advocare 24 day challenge today but I’m really missing the occasional alcoholic drink. I quit smoking cigarettes 4 days ago, and I never realized how addicted to food I was either until I started the challenge today. I’ve stuck to the plan very strictly today and feel like I can continue to do so but I’d really like to have a drink to take the edge off! I’m quiting so many things at once that i’d like to keep one crutch. I know it says to avoid alcohol, but how big a deal is it to have a drink and what exactly is it about alcohol that interferes with the challenge? Thanks!

      Try to be on plan at least 85-90% of the time. The cleanse helps deal with addictions and cravings.

      I just completed the 10 day cleanse and I have a bachelorette party to go to – will have some alcholol make me sick? Will it ruin the success I had and make me gain the weight and inches back? Thx!

        Don’t overdo it! Best option would be 1 glass of wine or 1 ounce clear alcohol like vodka mixed with club soda.

    I am seriously getting lost in your websites trying to get bak to the questions I asked 2 days ago. Can I eat chicken or oatmeal the first 10 days. On one instruction sheer it suggests it for a meal, the other says to avoid?

      Chicken is good for the whole 24 day as is other lean protein like turkey, fish, tofu. The instructions tell you for mid morning snack during the cleanse “Fruit is best for cleansing. Add in 3 hard boiled eggs or oatmeal, if needed”. If you are not losing, then skip the oatmeal.

      no protein shakes – you will get these after the cleanse in the meal replacement shakes. For right now use Spark. Can add hard boiled egg if needed.

    I am having the same problem. I am on day 3 and have not had one elimination. I have exercied the last two days and drank more than a gallon of water. Should I seek out an hearbal laxitive?

    Also, I work at night and feel that the meal replacement shake would work best for me as a dinner option. Can I eat oatmeal on the hearbal cleanse?

    I just finished day 3 of the 10 day cleanse, and I have been very bloated, is this normal? I am following all the correct steps with eating alot of veggies and drinking alot of water. I am peeiing alot more, but only go number 2 once a day..am i doing something wrong??
