Are you planning to start the Advocare 24 Day Challenge?  Are you part way through your challenge, and looking for words of wisdom?  Here are our Top Ten Tips for Success:

  1. Read the instructions thoroughly before and during your plan.  You cant' read them enough!  We are contacted daily by people who took the products on the wrong day or wrong time.  It is very simple if you read these instructions and the instructions in the Herbal Cleanse box (tells you when to take probiotic, fiber drink, etc.)  It does vary, so read and plan.
  2. Plan for snacks.  During the cleanse, we suggest hard boiled eggs, 100 calorie bags of raw almonds, celery and 2 tablespoons hummus, or bag of raw veggies.   After the cleanse, your best bet is using the same and adding Muscle Gain (don't use during the cleanse since it has dairy).  You can have the snack 2 times a day, but use hummus only once as it is a complex carb.  You can add a snack at night if necessary and only if you are continuing to lose.
  3. Go to the grocery store and get the best looking, most appealing fruits and veggies.  Don't overbuy – you want it as fresh as possible.  Try some new ones for variety.  Have frozen fruit available in case you do not have enough fresh fruit options.  See our frozen fruit tips here.
  4. Exercise.  It will speed up your weight loss and you will feel better.  Cardio and strength training are advised.  Try the Can You 24 DVD!
  5. Read Our FAQs.  Lots of questions answered in one easy place.
  6. Cook hard boiled eggs so they are readily available.  If you rinse well in cold water and let sit in the cold water for a while before refrigerating, they are easier to peel.
  7. Get adequate sleep.  Sleeping less than 7 hours can negatively impact your loss.  Aim for 7-8 hours every night.  If you have trouble sleeping, use SleepWorks.
  8. Use the Supplemental Products for best results, especially Catalyst and ThermoPlus.  Order your Advocare products in advance.  It can take up to 5 business days to receive, and you don't want to run out!  If you are continuing after the 24 Days, be prepared.  Even if you don't need to lose weight, it is a healthy way to eat.  We address this topic in a post for your convenience.
  9. Drinks LOTS of water and Spark.
  10. Don't panic if you have a brief plateau when you are doing the plan correctly.  Here is some helpful advice for plateaus and stalls.  And if you do “fall off”, here is help.

Good luck with your Challenge!

      @ Jan,
No bars on the cleanse. Incorporate extra veggies, protein and fruit.

i am very nervous about starting this because of all the bloating and stomach pain issues that are posted on here. Several have said they followed the plan to the T and you just dance around the subject and tell people to email you. you never address their question on the site????

There should not be bloating or stomach pain if you follow the directions. Some people do not realize that they need to drink the water, for instance.

I too have been following the directions to a T and drinking plenty of water, fruits and veggies, and bumping up my normal workouts. I have had bad bloating and gas and have literally gained a pound a day since being on the challenge. (and yes, I have been eliminating regularly, and more than normal due to the bulk fiber) Im on day 7 started at 135 and 20% body fat. I am now 142 and 22% body fat. I have been eating a paleo diet for apx 1.5 years, and I think all the artificial ingredients and oat fiber ar doing the exact opposite in my system. Instead of cleansing, it feels like it is bogging my system down and increasing inflammatory processes in my body. I feel like crap! I am going to continue with the system and log my results because I know it is a 24 day challenge, not just a 7 day challenge. But does anyone have any answers as to why this is happening to my system. Thanks!

      @ Allison,
For best results, avoid tea unless it is decaf tea.

I too have trouble falling asleep after taking the herbal cleanse and that’s with only 2 pills (I’m known to be sensitive to supplements). I’ve halted the cleanse for now 🙁 because I need my sleep! Can I take the tablets with dinner?

I’m on day 13 and the Max C is affecting me negatively. I take the first packet of pills 30 mins before breakfast (meal replacement shake) as directed and I feel crabby and hungry until lunch, where I down more pills and then feel jittery and definitely not like myself. The cleanse went well, I only dropped 3 lbs (cheated a few times) but I felt good overall, but now I feel 100% worse. I know there’s an appetite suppressant in here somewhere but I swear I feel more hungry now than I did during the cleanse.

Ive been on the cleanse now for 6 days and my stomach feels like someone has blown me up like a balloon. I figure it is from the cleanse possible fiber from the salads Ive been eating. I am kinda frustrated because I feel like my waist is bigger since I started. Is this normal?
