Eating Out On Advocare 24 Day – Tip 1

Eating Out On Advocare 24 Day – Tip 1

Posted on 24. Aug, 2010 by in General Info, Recipes, Recipes & Food

I have lots of tips for success when eating out during the 24 Day Challenge.  Today I reveal my favorite meal for eating out in a restaurant during the cleanse or the balance of the 24 Day Challenge.  This works in many restaurants.

Order grilled salmon (or other fish) with no starch and a double order of veggies.  You can add fresh fruit (naked) for dessert if desired.  Here is how I order it.  I ask to have the salmon grilled with no oil, butter or sauce (the natural omegas in salmon keep it plenty moist, and I don’t want to risk them drowning the fish in oil or even worse, butter).  I ask to have my veggies steamed with no butter or oil or sauce.   That way you get fresher veggies that have not been sitting in oil in a saute pan.

As easy as this sounds, I was only having 60% chance of getting what I really wanted until I adopted the following strategy.  I tell the waitperson ahead of time that “I apologize that I am going to be difficult”, or that “I have have food restrictions”, and say I hope he/she can help me out.  This has really helped improve the chances of getting it right, except when the waitress asked me what “steamed” was.  Yikes – no help there!  When I asked her to check after she said there were none, I did actually did get the order.  She pushed a bowl of veggies at me and said ” your steamed veggies, ha!”

Remember, it is your choice what you put in your body.  You don’t have to eat things that you don’t want while you are tying so hard to achieve success and be healthy.

      @ Jamy,
You mean they are too thick? You can add more water. We love them – flavored by Häagen-Dazs. If you don’t like the flavor, trya another. Our fave is vanilla.

I am on the 10 day clease part of the 24 day challenge. I lost 3.9 lbs from day 1-4. I woke up this morning (day 5) and gained 1.8 back. I eat 1000-1200 calories a day and only 4oz of protien 2-3 times a day. I eat carbs and fruit only on the refule days I am litterally following the rules as I am supposed to and I don’t know why I would do so well and then back track.

We do the 24 Day Challenge, and then maintenance on this site. It is about following the instructions as opposed to counting calories.

in your comments you say for people to avoid eating pasta… however… in reading the booklet that comes with the 10 day cleanse it says that you can have pasta, breads, and rice in the WHOLE GRAIN form…. and says to avoid white rice and white bread? Also, it doesn’t state anywhere in the packet to avoid dairy?

Can I have my morning and afternoon snack options with my meals instead of eating them at the specific intervals? I feel like it would give me more options for recipes…I’m tired of just lemon juice or vinegar on my salad. I’d like to make a dressing with avocado blended into it.

Bars are for after the 24 Day, and are a convenience, not a necessary item. Berries and hard boied eggs work for the breakfast if there is an issue. A double portion of Muscle Gain could help.

The good thing about hard boiled eggs is that you haven’t added anything to them. You can have fried or scrambled with no added milk or butter. Use a nonstick pan and PAM.

Just recieved my Advocare 24 day challange in the mail. I am confused on the specifics though. After reading all these posts its seems as though I am not the only one. Why isn’t there more specific instructions in the kit? I realize you can find alot of info on the site but there are links to other things on each page and I keep getting off track. The web site is a great tool, but it just seems that there should be more specific details with the kit! I was so excited to get going but unfortunatly I feel as though it will take me a few days to get through the site and links to get all the information to set myself up for success!

Most people use 1-2 Sparks per day. You can order more Spark. My favorite is Pink Lemonade. 🙂 Many people enjoy the economy of ordering a canister as it is cheaper than the individual packets.

During the 10 day cleanse we eliminate foods that are known to be inflammatory to many people (wheat, coffee, dairy, alcohol, yeast, soda), and add more foods and supplements that may help reduce inflammation (Omega 3’s, fruits, veggies, water).

I know this plan is not about counting calories, but how many calories should we be seeing if we eat according to plan. I’m a big girl 5’9 x 186# and this 1000 – 1200 calorie thing is draining me. According to my body weight and height, I should be shooting for about 1600 for optimal weight loss (according to MyFitnessPal.com). Can I have more food please? I am exhausted on day 8 of the cleanse.

Started the 24 day Challenge today. I am still a bit confused on how to do everything. I have printed off the directions and read them over and over. Basically this is how my day started. I took the fiber drink first thing in the morning, drank several glasses of water through out the morning, had an apple mid morning, more water and then a grilled chicken salad for lunch. I then had spark and 3 catalyst mid afternoon. Later on had some celery sticks and an apple with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. I was starving between apple and lunch, amazingly I am not hungry after the snack in the afternoon and before dinner. I am looking for ideas for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. Do I do meal replacement shakes?

I am not a huge fish eater but can manage tuna salad. Is sour cream ok or not during the cleanse. I want to do this right, just not sure what I should be eating exactly or drinking. I am afraid I will get bored with water after a few days.
