Perhaps the biggest question we get from the Contact Us form has to do with making a mistake or making a poor food choice.  Here are the 2 most common:

1) I forgot to take my supplements, or I took my supplements incorrectly.  Did I ruin everything?

2) I ate “bad stuff” or “the wrong things” or went out drinking with friends. What can I do?

The answer is the same for both.  Get back on plan immediately, and don’t look back.  Go forward “on plan” and eat correctly.

Do not double up on supplements because you have extra!

As long as you are “on plan” 90% of the time, you should do fine.

Thought I would share a little “secret recipe” that has really worked for me.

If I need to jump start myself back in gear after a night out, here is what I do.  This is just my personal method, but it has had great results.  I have a meal that is very high in fiber and nutrients.  I try to have something very colorful that has the freshest and best looking veggies and fruit.  Here is a meal I had a few days ago that follows this pattern.  Two fresh hard boiled jumbo eggs (still warm with fresh cracked pepper), steamed asparagus (natural diuretic), small amount of steamed broccoli, baby cukes, yellow pepper, orange cherry tomatoes.  Bowl of beautiful raspberries and blackberries (most fibrous fruit).  You can vary the fruits and veggies, and you can substitute with PLAIN grilled chicken or turkey.  I think you can see the pattern here.  This works for any phase of the 24 Day Challenge (Cleanse and 14 Day MNS)

    I am only doing the 10 day cleanse. Can I drink the Coffeccino packs from Advocare in place of my coffee in the mornings?

    I am on day 18 – I had family over last night and ended up having two beers with some bloody Mary mix. Didn’t think much about it at the time because I did not eat anything but protein for dinner. I had already lost 11 pounds on the challenge, but when I weighed the next morning I was up 7 pounds. Is this just from the two beers? Please help! If I drink lots of water today will it get me back on track with my weight? I do feel very “bloated” this morning.

    concerning the white packets of the MNSMAX 3….can the large yellow pills somehow be made easier to take? The whole”float” trikc doesn’t work :(
    And in the color packs is the ActoTherm SR (which I know can’t be crushed) the small white pill? I just want to know so I’m not crushing whatever I’m not suppose to crush :)

    What are some tastier ways for drinking that nasty fiber drink?

    Also, Can I drink the spark at any time or does it have to be 30 min before breakfast or 30 min before lunch?

      @ Kaelyn,
      Mix really well and chug it. If you let it sit, it will get thick.
      You can have Spark at any time that suits you, but would advise against taking before bed. :-)

    I can’t swallow the omega pills. Do I need them? Can I skip those? I can not even “float” them. Can I open them or anything?

    Is it okay to have whole wheat bagel thins? Or whole wheat sandwich thins while doing the cleanse phase?
    It’s listed in the booklet as a complex carb that is acceptable. But I saw someone mention it’s not okay during the cleanse?

    so day one I did what I was suppose to how ever I ended up very sick I couldnt keep down the fiber drink I would like to keep on the Advocare but if I can not handle the fiber drink what should I do ? everytime I see the package it makes me sick and just thinking about it does as well. Not sure thats what made me sick or not but I was very ill for 3 days and now Im worried that I cant do this challenge please help.

    I’ve scoured your website, thank you so much for all the great info! I’m only on Day 3 but plugging along. My question is I have a very hard time swallowing pills and the cleanse pills at night have been a major challenge. The only way I found I can get them down is with a swallow of my kids chocolate milk. I can’t think of an alternative that would help get those horse pills down. Am I completely sabotaging my meticulous clean eating during the day with those three gulps of chocolate milk?

      It is a no-no. No dairy and no sugar. Per Advocare, “Those with difficulty swallowing may chew or crush most AdvoCare® caplets and tablets. One exception is ActoTherm SR, the thermogenic component in the first color packet of the MNS® Max 3 strip pack. Since the ActoTherm SR caplet is formulated using sustained-release technology, chewing or crushing the caplet interferes with the extended-release mechanism and results in more rapid release of the ingredients. Capsules may be opened and sprinkled on food.” You can use applesauce with no sugar added.

    I am having trouble staying full, what do you reccomend to eat as snacks to stay satisfied? Today I have been eating banana chips but not sure they are good. I am on day 22 for 24 day challenge.

      No banana chips and no dried fruit. Use fresh fruit and vegetables. All snack should contain protein. Hard boiled egg and half an apple or some veggies is good. Or 100 calorie bag of raw almonds.

    I took my MNS color back before breakfast but forgot my color pack before lunch and white packs during lunch. Just continue on as normal?

    Ok so I am on my fourth day and I binged! I usually am so strong I don’t know why but my body needed something other than protein shakes and veggies…. So, ugh can’t believe this but I ate 3 sugar donuts ,1 subway sandwich which cheese and mayo, Doritos cool ranch AND the cheese one. AND sweet bread. I usually can’t even finish my sandwich but i was just starving! I feel disgusted and now I don’t know what to do… Please help!

    ugh….this is my first time on Advocare 24 day challenge….I didnt realize I wasn’t suppose to have milk products during cleanse phase…..I am on day 4…..anything I can do during the rest of the cleanse phase to counterbalance that yogurt I ate all 3 days?

    I’ve tried everything and can’t swallow the omegaplex. I even tried the “floating” trick that you already suggested. Nothing is working. Can I cut it open and take it straight like that or will that hurt me? Thanks!

    I had a late start this morning on my eating….is it ok to skip a snack and just have dinner 3 hours after lunch?

      You can skip a snack at any tie, but you don’t want to be so hungry that you overeat. In this case you should be fine.

    I forget to drink the meal replacement shake for breakfast. But all i have is a green apple. Is this going to affect me? Or can i drink it whenever in the day, when i get hungry.

    I cannot swallow the omegaplex gel caps. I tried on the first day and both my breakfast and fiber drink were tryin’ to come back up with all of my attempts to swallow the gel cap. Can I open the gel cap and put it in something? My coach doesn’t seem to know what to do. Are there any pills/vitamins/gel caps that absolutely cannot be broken up and put into something?

      You can try this trick. Fill your mouth with water or Spark,then “float” the omega and swallow. You can crush most of the pills.

    I am on day one and messed up already. I forgot to take the fiber drink this morning. I had it on my calendar to take the pills tonight and just realized its the other way around. Can I still take the fiber drink tonight when I get home or should I wait until tomorrow?
